Savings plan calculator
A savings plan calculator shows how a fixed monthly contribution can grow over a chosen number of years at a steady yearly rate. The tool pre-fills the rate with the central bank policy rate as a neutral starting point. That rate is not a mutual fund return and the result is only an illustration.
Savings plan calculator
A fixed amount every month, for a number of years, at a yearly rate you choose.
How to use the calculator
Enter the amount you plan to add each month. Enter the number of years you plan to keep saving. The yearly rate field is already filled with the central bank policy rate, and you can change it if you want to test a different assumption.
The calculator multiplies your monthly contribution by the number of months and adds the growth earned at the yearly rate. It shows the total you would put in and the extra amount that comes from growth. The output is a simple projection, not a forecast.
Use it to compare how different monthly amounts or time periods change the result. It can help you set a savings target and see the effect of starting earlier or later. It does not compare specific funds or providers.
What the result does not include
The result does not deduct fund management fees or other charges. These fees reduce the amount that actually stays invested, so the real total would be lower than the calculator shows. It also does not account for any tax on gains or on withdrawals.
The calculator assumes the yearly rate stays the same for the whole period. In practice, fund prices move up and down and returns are not fixed. A fund will not follow a constant rate, so the actual growth can be higher or lower in any year.
The result does not include the effect of inflation, which reduces what your total can buy in the future. It also does not reflect any change in your monthly contribution. Treat the output as a rough guide only.
A common mistake is to treat the pre-filled policy rate as a promised fund return. The policy rate is a central bank tool, not a fund result, and actual returns will vary.
